Illustrator and Artist Brit Cardarelli founded Sticks and Stripes Studio in 2010. She started her career in Fashion, as a Dress Designer (which explains why most of her critters to this day are fully clothed). Sticks and Stripes then moved into textile design, printing on bulk fabric. Since then, Brit has illustrated for a variety of clients that span many different industries… including Apparel, Advertising, Editorial, Stationary, Wall Art, Giftware, Home furnishing, and Children’s Books.
Sticks and Stripes is a cozy, whimsical world where you’ll find parades of curious characters marching across the pages of Children Books. While furry, feathery, and finned friends are loved by flocks of children and grownups alike. Whether they are landing on the walls of children rooms and nurseries, resting on bookshelves, on tees and onesies, hugging children as they play, or flying around in envelope airplanes to greet a friend. Sticks and Stripes is brightening the dimmest houses across the distant land.
Brit’s love for nature is felt through her work. It encompasses intricate drawings of flora and fauna with playful watercolored creatures, critters and characters. She enjoys working with traditional media. Mostly watercolor, gouache and colored pencils. But has dabbed her paws into creating artwork digitally as well.
